This is Memorial Day weekend. In Haleyville, it means Friday night will be the graduation ceremony for 105 Haleyville High seniors at 8 p.m. at Bubba Scott Field.

The annual Coal Fest is this weekend in Brilliant, a celebration of the town’s rich coal mining history. The two-day festival begins Friday afternoon, May 26 with crafts, food, fun, music and an antique car show. Google or check Facebook for a schedule of events.
