• Haleyville Water Accepting Job Applications

    The Haleyville Water Works and Sewer Board will be accepting applications for an opening through May 22, 2020. The position will include outside water and sewer line repair, meter reading and the operating of equipment. the ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, have good math skills, be able to communicate well with others, be in good physical condition, have a valid driver’s license and live within the service area. Must be able to pass a drug test and physical examination.

    The candidate will lbe required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License and Certification of Operator’s License from the Alabama Department of Enfironmental Management.

  • Change of Plans, Butts are still On!

    The Delmar to Natural Bridge Yard Sale originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4 has been canceled but be rescheduled for later in the year. The decision to cancel the event was the concern of the coronavirus pandemic.

    However, the Delmar Fire Department has decided to go ahead with the sale of smoked Boston butts ($25 each), whole chickens ($15 each), hams ($30 each), and/or rack of ribs ($30 each). You MUST purchase a ticket if you wish to make a purchase. See any member of the Delmar Fire Department for a ticket. Pickup for the items you purchased will be Saturday, April 4, 2020, from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

  • HES Kindergarten Registration

    Haleyville City Schools will hold kindergarten registration on Friday, May 1, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.   Registration will be held at the Haleyville Elementary School library.  A child who is being registered for kindergarten must be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2020, and meet Board enrollment requirements before he/she can attend school for the 2020-2021 school year.  Parents or guardians registering prospective kindergarten students are encouraged to bring the following:

    1. The child’s birth certificate
    2. Immunization certificate showing that the child has had all of the required immunizations:  D.P.T., polio, measles, and mumps.  ALABAMA STATE LAW REQUIRES PROOF OF THE IMMUNIZATIONS BEFORE A CHILD CAN ENTER KINDERGARTEN OR FIRST GRADE
    3. Social Security Card
    4. Proof of residency
    5. Custody Papers (if applicable)
    6. Driver’s License of parent/guardian

    A team of Kindergarten teachers will be administering the HES Kindergarten Screener to all children who will attend kindergarten in the fall of 2020.  Thus, it will be necessary for you to bring your pre-school child with you to registration so we can administer this short screening instrument.  We plan to make this a fun experience for the children.  You can help by planning to make this a special outing for you and your pre-schooler.  In an effort to avoid over-crowded conditions and give each child individual attention, we ask that you adhere to the following schedule:


    M-Z 12:00-2:30

    We realize that some of you work and can only come at certain times.  We will adjust our schedule to accommodate working parents.

    It is important that all parents or guardians register eligible children on April 1.

  • T-Ball Registration

    The Haleyville Park & Recreation Department is holding T-Ball registration on February 10– February 28. T Ball is for boys and girls ages 5 & 6.  Your Child must be 5 on or before June 30, 2021.  The cost of registration is $35.00 per child.  A family discount will apply.  Registration hours will be.  Monday Tuesday’s & Thursday’s hours are 9 am till 6 pm and Wednesday & Friday 9 am till 5 pm at Haleyville Park & Rec.   • Little Miss Leo’s Pageant

    Haleyville Elementary School will be hosting its annual Little Miss Leo’s Pageant on Saturday, March 7 in the school cafetorium beginning at 2:00 for ages 2 years to 5th grade.

    The attire is a Sunday dress. The entry fee is $25. If you wish for your child to be included in the Photogenic category, an additional $5 fee should be added. Monday, February 25th will be the deadline to turn in registration forms and money.   • HHS Leo’s Loveliest

    The Annual Haleyville High School Leo’s Loveliest Pageant will be Friday, February 28 for Junior Division, and Saturday, February 29 for Senior Division.  The pageant will begin at 7:30 each night at the HES cafetorium. 

    Leo’s reserved tickets for Jr. and Sr. contestants only will be on sale Wednesday, Feb 19 and Thursday, Feb 20.   Tickets for Jr. Division contestants will be sold at the Middle School and Sr. Division contestants will be sold at the Center of Technology Office.

    Wednesday’s only-ticket sales will begin at 7:15 a.m. 

    On Friday, February 21, reserved tickets for escorts will be available. Reserved tickets will be available to the public on Monday, Feb 24th. Reserved tickets are $8.00 each and general admission is $5.00. 

    Doors will open at 7 pm each night.  Tickets may be purchased at the event.

    Attendees should park in the front parking lot.  No one will be allowed to park in the rear.
