Haleyville City Council Meeting

Monday, 4 April City Council Meeting was attended by all Council members, except “Blue”Russell.  The following Resolutions were discussed and approved:

RESOLUTION # 2022-09: Additional striping work to include the crosswalk from the Hospital’s Helicopter Pad to the Emergency Room and striping in the maintenance area

RESOLUTION # 2022-10: The City of Haleyville has been approved for Alabama Industrial Access Road and Bridge Corporation Grant funding through ALDOT for widening and resurfacing of Botush Industrial Park.

RESOLUTION # 2022-11: Widening and resurfacing of CR-90 from the intersection with SR-13 to approximately 1,035 ft. east

Councilman Ray Boshell discussed the success of the past HHS Prom weekend,  He applauded the efforts made by parents and community to make safe pre and post-prom events available.

RESOLUTION # 2022-09

WHEREAS the City of Haleyville is currently working on the construction of the Resurfacing and Striping of Parking Lots at Lakeland Community Hospital, and

WHEREAS the Contractor, Central Alabama Asphalt and Construction Company, LLC has requested Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $3,446.00 for additional striping work to include the crosswalk from the Hospital’s Helicopter Pad to the Emergency Room and striping in the maintenance area.

WHEREAS the Project Engineer, Calvin Cassady, P.E. of The Cassady Company, Inc., has reviewed the additional striping work in the field and approves Change Order No. 1.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Haleyville, that Mayor Ken Sunseri is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 (attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution) approving the project cost increase of $3,446.00 for additional striping work at Lakeland Community Hospital as described above.

RESOLUTION # 2022-10

WHEREAS the City of Haleyville has been approved for Alabama Industrial Access Road and Bridge Corporation Grant funding through ALDOT for widening and resurfacing of Botush Industrial Park, and

WHEREAS the City of Haleyville will be responsible for engineering costs, right-of-way costs, utility costs, and any construction project overruns exceeding the commitment amount of $224,100.00, and

WHEREAS the City of Haleyville has selected The Cassady Company, Inc. to provide engineering services for this project at a fee not to exceed $52,005.50, and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Haleyville, that Ken Sunseri, as Mayor, is authorized to:

Enter into and execute an agreement with The Cassady Company, Inc. to provide engineering services for this project at a fee not to exceed $52,005.50 for Engineering Design ($18,500.00) and for Construction Engineering and Inspection ($33,505.50).

RESOLUTION # 2022-11

BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Haleyville as follows:

That the City enter into an agreement with the State of Alabama, acting by and through the Alabama Department of Transportation relating to a project for:

Widening and resurfacing of CR-90 from the intersection with SR-13 to approximately 1,035 ft. east; Length – .20 mile; Project #IAR-067-000-008; CPMS Ref #100075076.

Which agreement is before this Council, and that the agreement be executed in the name of the City, by the Mayor, for and on its behalf and that it be attested by the City Clerk and the official seal of the City be affixed thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon the completion of the execution of the agreement by all parties, that a copy of such agreement be kept on file by the City.

I, the undersigned qualified and acting Clerk of the City of Haleyville, Alabama do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true copy of a resolution lawfully passed and adopted by the City named therein, at a regular meeting of such Council held on the 4th day of April 2022, and that such resolution is on file in the City Clerk’s Office.
