The Phillips High Girls Basketball Team defeated Holy Spirit at Hanceville 67-48. Phillips was down 10 points in the second quarter but overcame the deficit to pull off a huge win. Next stop, Birmingham to play in the state tournament. The Phillips “She Bears” will play Linden Monday, February 21. The last time the girls won the 1A state championship was in 1986.

Monday, the Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats defeated Cold Springs 46-29 to in the regional playoffs in Hartselle to earn a trip to Birmingham on Monday also. The Bobcats (27-5) will play Samson (29-3) at 3 p.m. Monday at Legacy Arena in Birmingham.
