Miss 9-1-1

 

Miss Victoria Roose was selected as Miss 9-1-1 for 2018 at the Rotary Club pageant Saturday afternoon, February 3.

Victoria Roose, the daughter of Kim and Annette Roose, of McCalla, Alabama, is 23 years old. She has a bachelor of science in music. Her platform is Note To Self: Confidence Through Music.

Victoria likes doing home improvement projects, crocheting, bargain hunting, cooking and listening to jazz classics. She is a member of the Pride of Dixie Marching Band, Tau Beta Sigma, UNA Studio Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Her future plans are to finish a bachelor’s in music and start a master’s in education to qualify for a career in elementary music with an interest in arts administration.

Victoria received a $200 scholarship and will be the Miss 9-1-1 representative to the Miss Alabama pageant. Ten girls competed in four categories. Interview, talent, swimsuit and evening gown. The panel of judges also selected Meg McGuire as first runner-up and Madison Waid second runner-up. Victoria Roose also the winner of the talent portion. Selected by all the girls, Miss Cathrine Halloway was voted Miss Congeniality.
