Chase Ends in Crash and Arrest

A vehicle chase started at approximately 12:30 p.m. today on County Highway 114 in Marion County. Bear Creek Police Officer Jonathan Oliver on his way to assist a Marion County Deputy on a different call, witnessed a Dodge pickup weaving in theĀ road, then doing donuts in a field. He stopped the vehicle and as he approached the vehicle on foot, it sped away. Oliver gave chase and called for assistance from other law enforcement officers.

 

The chase went through much of western Marion County ending in a crash on County Highway 6 between Bear Creek and Hackleburg. The 2003 Dodge Dakota pickup left the road and crashed into a pine tree. The driver, Cody Noble, 25, a native of Bear Creek was arrested at the scene. The charges against him include possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, attempt to elude, criminal mischief 3rd, and reckless endangerment. A female passenger suffered a bloody noseĀ but otherwise appeared to be in good condition. Charges against Noble will be in an updated story.

 

Other agencies assisting included the Haleyville and Hacleburg Police Departments and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The crash was investigated by an Alabama State Trooper.
