Nauvo Man Dies From Crash
QUAD CITIES POST—A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, has claimed the life of a Waterloo man. Jefferey G. Joiner, 60, was critically injured when the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch, a utility pole and then a tree. The Lincoln caught fire and became engulfed in flames. Joiner was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and transported to North Alabama Medical Center in Florence for treatment. Joiner later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.
The crash occurred on Alabama 20 near Lauderdale County 87, approximately 18 miles west of Florence, in Lauderdale County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate

Do you have unwanted or broken computers, phones, or flatscreen TVs laying around? Don’t throw them in the trash! The Paradise 92.7 E-Cycle Drive lets you send these items off for recycling. Drop off your unwanted electronic devices at two locations in Winston County for a limited time.
Drop off locations are at the Double Springs Municipal Building at 23415 Highway 195, and at the Haleyville Neighborhood Facilities Building at 1205 10th Avenue.
Paradise 92.7 FM and HBTV encourage you to E-Cycle your unwanted electronics in order to keep them out of local landfills. Boxes on pallets have been provided for a very limited time at both locations for stacking the discarded items.

Haleyville City Council
The Haleyville City Council met Monday, May 16 with Councilman Blue Russell absent. The April bills and purchase orders totaling $520,375.37 was approved. The Council approved four resolutions.
Resolution 22-17 was a change order for the Lakeland Parking Lot resurfacing. $10,443.79 was approved to balance the cover the actual quantiles of asphalt needed for the project.
Resolution 22-18 was an Engineering Agreement with the Cassady Company to provide services for the Brookhaven project not to exceed $20,500.
Resolution 22-19 authorized the Cassady Company to advertise for bids to complete work in the Brookhaven Subdivision. Funds have been received from the Rebuild Alabama Act Annual Grant Program to resurface the streets in Brookhaven.
Resolution 22-2 changes the amount to be paid to the Cassady Company on the Industrial Access Road for widening and resurfacing of the Botush Industrial Park. The actual Engineering Design Service will be provided by others.
The City of Haleyville are seeking two full time street and sanitation employees. Applications are available at city hall. The next scheduled City Council meeting will be Monday, June 6, 5:30 p.m. at the Haleyville City Hall.

Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Double Springs Man
HaMILTON POST – A single-vehicle crash at approximately 12:45 a.m. Monday, May 16, has claimed the life of a Double Springs man. Rickie R. Garrison, 67, was fatally injured when the 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a ditch. Garrison was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama 195 near the 16 mile marker, approximately three miles south of Double Springs, in Winston County. Haleyville City Council
The Haleyville City Council met Tuesday, February 22, with all members present. TheJanuary general bills and purchase orders were approved in the amount of $335, 731.76. The Council approved a change order to the Mineral Springs project, Resolution 22.06.
Also approved was the purchase of an ice making machine for the Sports Complex for $$,923.00.
