• Haleyville Man Dies in Crash Attempting to Elude Police

    HAMILTON POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. Friday, May 3, has claimed the life of a Haleyville man. Joshua H. Cosby, 35, was critically injured when the 1999 Toyota Tacoma he was driving left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Cosby was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash. Cosby was transported to Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

    Cosby was attempting to elude a Haleyville Police Officer at the time of the crash. The crash occurred on Marion County 62 near Slaughter Pen Road, approximately one mile north of Haleyville, in Marion County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
