Russellville Teen Dies in Crash
QUAD CITIES POST – A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. Saturday, July 2, has claimed the life of a Russellville teen. The crash occurred when the 2018 Toyota Corolla in which the 17-year-old was a passenger, struck a 2017 Ford F150 driven by an 18-year-old Town Creek resident. The 17-year-old was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, Samuel Matias-Francisco, 20, of Russellville, another juvenile passenger, and the driver of the Ford were all transported to area hospitals for treatment. The crash occurred on Alabama 24 near the 43 mile marker, approximately eight miles west of Moulton, in Lawrence County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate. – ALEA
