Hamilton Post — A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, has claimed the life of a Haleyville man. Matthew K. Riddle, 27, was fatally injured when the 2017 Dodge Ram he was driving, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Riddle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near the 44 mile marker, approximately one mile east of Double Springs. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
