A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, has claimed the life of a Hamilton woman. Cheyenne Nichole Lawson, 43, was killed when the 2002 Jeep Liberty she was driving was struck head-on by a 2018 Freightliner. The Freightliner crossed over the center line of the highway in a no-passing zone. Lawson was pronounced deceased by a doctor at a local hospital. The crash occurred on Alabama 278 at the 23.5 mile marker, approximately 21 miles east of Jasper. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
