Hamilton Man Killed in Crash
Hamilton Post — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:20 pm. Tuesday, May 18, has claimed the life of a Hamilton man. Arthur Webb, 81, was killed when the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Webb’s vehicle then overturned and struck an unoccupied 2008 Honda Civic in a private driveway. Webb was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred seven miles north of Sulligent on Lamar County 35. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Hamilton Woman Killed in Crash
A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, has claimed the life of a Hamilton woman. Cheyenne Nichole Lawson, 43, was killed when the 2002 Jeep Liberty she was driving was struck head-on by a 2018 Freightliner. The Freightliner crossed over the center line of the highway in a no-passing zone. Lawson was pronounced deceased by a doctor at a local hospital. The crash occurred on Alabama 278 at the 23.5 mile marker, approximately 21 miles east of Jasper. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.

Double Springs Man Killed in Crash
A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. Sunday, May 2, has claimed the life of a Double Springs man. Gregory Cleghorn, 46, was killed when the 1996 Ford Explorer he was driving failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and pulled out in front of a 2011 Kia Sportage. After impact, the Explorer left the roadway and overturned. Cleghorn was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Fall City Road, approximately eight miles north of Jasper. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
