  • Two Vehicle Crash, One Injured One Arrested

A two-vehicle crash just after 9 p.m. Monday night in front of Lyle Wrecker Service on Highway 195 resulted in one driver taken to Lakeland ER and the other driver arrested for DUI. Devon Defoor, 23, Haleyville walked away from a white Chevy service truck he was driving with only a cut next to his right eye. The Haleyville Fire Department was called because at first, it appeared Devon was entrapped in his truck. To the amazement of police officers, firemen and others, he climbed out and was walking around. The vehicle had been crushed from the almost head-on impact of a Cadillac Escalade driven by Refugio Sosa of Haleyville. A witness said Sosa had just run the red light in front of Walmart, going through in the turn lanes, then a minute later crashed into the truck in the curve in front of Lyles Wrecker. Sosa was arrested at the scene and transported to the Winston County Jail.
