• Lakeland Hospital Purchase Date Set

    Mayor Ken Sunseri announced at the Haleyville City Council meeting on Monday that March 31 is the date set for closing on the purchase of Lakeland Hospital by the Haleyville/Winston County Hospital Board. Meanwhile, the city attorney, Jeff Mobley will be finalizing the by-laws for the Board and a contract for the Java Management Grop which will operate the hospital for the Board.

     

    In other business, the council approved the advertising for lifeguards for the city swimming pool and seasonal employees for the street department. Also approved was the purchase of a dump bed for a street department pickup in the amount of $9,995.00 and to pay an invoice to Shoals Electric for $1,500. The City will order 9-1-1 50th Anniversary coins in the amount of $2,100.00.

     

    The next meeting of the Haleyville City Council will be on Monday, March 19.

  • HMS Band Concert Tuesday Evening

    Members of the HMS Band have done extraordinarily well in in competition. The band can use your help and here is how. Donations will also be appreciated.

    The Third Annual HMS Bands Mid-Semester Concert will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, at the HMS Gym. The Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, and Eighth Grade Ensemble will be performing a wide variety of marches, ballads, classical and contemporary pieces for our community. This is a fundraising event for our program, as we are in great need of percussion equipment. Admission is $2 per adult, while all preschoolers and students are admitted free.
