The Phillips High School ‘She Bears’ defeated last year’s State Champions R.A. Hubbard ‘Lady Chiefs’ by a score of 53 – 49 in the Regional Semifinals at Wallace State Hanceville on Friday, February 16.

The girls advance to the 1-A Regional Finals on Tuesday, February 20 at 4:00 PM between Phillips and Holy Spirit (Tuscaloosa).  The She Bears record climbs to 27 – 3 as they advance to the Elite Eight.

Phil Campbell defeated Mars Hill 55-46 Thursday the Class 2A girls Northwest regional game at Wallace State. The Lady Bobcats will play Cold Springs Monday at 3 p.m. with a chance to advance to the State finals in Birmingham.

The Haleyville High School Lions varsity boys basketball team was defeated today in a very close game by Cordova 49-45 in the Regional semi-finals of the state regional playoffs at Wallace State. That game ended the overall successful basketball season for the Lions. Now it is time for softball and baseball.
