Two men have been arrested in connection with the New Bethel Baptist Church fire on December 20, 2016. Corey Dean, 21,(Cherry Hill Road) and Brian Box, 23, Brilliant. The two were also charged with breaking into 6 other churches in this area in the last 45 days. The New Bethel fire was investigated by an Alabama State Fire Marshall. The church building and contents were completely destroyed by the fire. Several items were stolen from the church before the fire. The church had no insurance thus there will be a gospel quartet benefit singing this Saturday featuring Freedomland and Southern Image. The singing will be at the Hines Memorial Baptist Church at 10726 State Highway 241 this Saturday, January 28 at 6 p.m. All proceeds and donations will go to the New Bethel Baptist Church.
