Haleyville City Board of Education

The HCS Board of Education met Tuesday and approved the expenditures for March in the amount of $1,323,374.28. Also approved was a lease agreement for a Roro fairway mower for $911.00/mo for 60 months. A 1998 bus was declared obsolete or unserviceable. Barber’s Milk and Lann Chemical were approved for the Child Nutrition rollover bids. Two other minor business items were approved. Approval was made for the Mark Forrester Foundation to use the HMS Cafeteria on May 18 and the Haleyville Alumni Association to use the HES lunchroom on June 2 for the annual alumni banquet.

Three field trips and four fundraisers were approved.

The Board approved the resignation of Dustin Ball as Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, also as the Head Coach of the Golf Program. Other resignations approved included Janna Carruth as HES teacher, Mandy Townsend as HMS cheer sponsor, Hannah Fox as the bookkeeper at HHS, and Christy Aderholt as the Superintendent Secretary.  Also approved, the retirement of Leigh Ann Kiser, HES teacher and Rachel Armstrong as HMS Special Education teacher. Suzanne Caldwell will transfer from Special Education at HHS to a Collaborative teacher at the HMS. Mark Burleson will be the HHS Summer Facilitator and Misty McNutt and Pam Wilson as Summer Feeding Lunchroom workers. Ashley Tidwell was hired as the English Language Learner teacher for HCS. Dylan Burleson was hired as the HHS Varsity Basketball Coach.
