The Haleyville City Council met Monday afternoon and the first order of business was a Proclamation read by Mayor Sunseri pertaining to the State Bi-Centennial set for 2017-18. Sunseri said the Haleyville Chamber will be promoting the events and celebration locally.

After approving the minutes of the last regular meeting on 9/19 and a work session last week, the council approved a city employee health insurance increase of 4%. This increase will be paid by the city.

A bid of $30,720.00 by Shoals Paving and Sealing for paving 22nd Street was approved.

Hayden Southern was hired as a part-time Class II dispatcher.

Bobby Taylor was appointed back to the Water Board for a six-year term.

Mayor Sunseri reported that overall city revenues were up a total of $77, 079 over last year for the fiscal year which ended September 30. Sales and occupational taxes were up, but alcohol sales tax were down.

The next scheduled meeting of the Council will be on Monday, October 17, 5:30 at the Haleyville City Hall.
