Long-time Haleyville School Board Member Sandra Manasco has been named a 2011 All-State School Board Member. The award was announced at Tuesday night's BOE meeting.
The award was presented last weekend at the Alabama Association of School Boards Awards Luncheon in Birmingham. Manasco is one of five recipients of the organization's top honor. Manasco said that she is honored to serve on the Board and accepted the award on behalf of the entire system.
Ms. Manasco has served this board for 13 years.
The board approved the substitute teacher list, approved field trip requests for the Varsity Softball Team to attend three different tournaments in 2012, and awarded the bid for copier paper through July to Newell Paper Company.
In personnel action, the Board hired Frances Baugas, Faye Cummings, Deborah Wood, Misty Jordan, Sharon Davis, and Emily Israel for various positions through the end of the school year. Gina Frederick's resignation was accepted.
The next meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, January 24, at 7 PM.
