Haleyville Police welcomed its latest police adademy graduates at the City Council meeting Monday night. Heath Lewis and Dustin Witt graduated last week from the APOSTC Law Enforcement Academy at Tuscaloosa. Both are now APOSTC certified law enforcement officers. They were hired May 2, 2011, and spent their time in the field training program before going to the adademy August 15. Haleyville Police Chief Kyle Reogas said that the two officers have about one more month of field training remaining before they begin patrolling on their own. HPD now has 13 full-time and one part-time personnel. APOSTC is the Alabama Police Officers Standards and Training Commission.
