Thursday, September 29, marks the one year anniversary of the death of Haleyville's Mark Forester, an air force special forces combat controller killed in in action in Afghanistan. To honor the day, his family will have two balloon releases with notes attached in memory of Forester and all those killed or injured in defense of the country. The first release will take place at 7 AM at the Forester gravesite in Winston Memorial Cemetery. At 9:15 PM, there will be another short serive at the football stadium.
