The Legislature's Reapportionment Committee is composed of 22 members from throughout the state, except for the area in and around Winston County, a county that is split into three senatorial and three representative districts. Closest members are from Rogersville, Decatur and Cottondale.
And now, the committee has scheduled 21 public hearings to get citizens' views on how to redesign legislative districts. Committee members say they will be in Fort Payne, Guntersville and Huntsville on Oct. 3; Fayette, Florence and Decatur on Oct. 4; Clanton, Pelham and Birmingham on Oct. 6; Troy and Dothan on Oct. 11; Greenville, Brewton and Mobile on Oct. 12; Thomasville, Demopolis and Tuscaloosa on Oct. 13; Anniston and Auburn on Oct. 17; and Selma and Montgomery on Oct. 18.

Fayette or Florence will be the closest meeting for residents of this area. And, those meetings are on the same day. HBTV will post as soon as it obtains locations and times.
