Coach Blaine Hathcock told the Rotary Club Thursday, the Haleyville Lions football team is ready to begin their regular season against the Winfield Pirates Friday night. The Lions won a preseason jamboree game last week against Phil Campbell and has been preparing with workouts twice a day to be ready for the Pirates. The season opener will be a home game with kickoff at 7 p.m. With a team of over 50 players, Coach Hathcock feels this year's team will be better than last and should continue to improve over the next couple of years. The team players are big, and his plan is to utilize the depth of players to win over Winfield. Season tickets are still available at T&F Financial services downtown. A few tickets will be available for the Rotary/Renassiance steak dinner before the game at the Haleyville Middle School. Drive through pickup will be available beside the middle school for those who already have tickets. Serving starts at 4:30 p.m. Coach Hathcock asks everyone to come out and support the Lions this year. Get the complete football schedule as well as the Leo Review Program at |
