A three-month investigation by the Haleyville Police Department concluded last week with an alleged marijuana dealer being arrested.
Robin Clark Gautreaux, 31, of Lynn, was arrested July 17, and charged with distribution of marijuana and possession of marijuana. Richard L. Fuller, 50, of Haleyville, was also arrested. He was charged with possession of marijuana.
According to HPD Chief Kyle Reogas, an HPD investigation, begun three months ago, led to surveillance of a residence on 9th Avenue. Officers broke surveillance on July 17 and approached the carport, which was occupied by several individuals, including Gautreaux and Fuller. Officers obtained permission of the homeowner to search the carport and performed a “pat down” of the occupants for officer safety.
During the “pat down” marijuana was discovered and the person possessing the marijuana admitted to police that he had bought marijuana at that residence on several occasions.
Based on the admission, the discovery at the scene, and other evidence obtained during the investigation, the two arrests were made.
