The City Council met Monday evening and took the following actions: approved General Obligation Bills of $471,722.53; approved a 24-month waiver of building permit fees for storm shelters constructed with FEMA grants; and, approved the assignment of the cable franchise to Zito Alabama, LLC. Zito is buying the Alabama interests of Cobridge and has agreed in principal to adhere to the same improvements timetable outlined in the contract with Cobridge.
