Just after 12 noon Friday, Jaime Thomas, 36, wife of Haleyville fireman Craig Thomas, was injured in a two vehicle accident on Highway 13 south of Delmar. Reportedly her car collied with the side of a tractor-trailer truck causing extensive damage to the auto and ripping a hole in the fuel tanks of the tractor. The flat bed trailer was loaded with roofing shingles. Jamie was transported to the Lakeland Community Hospital emergency room. Her husband Craig stated: "Jamie has a broken right pinky finger and a world of bruises and bumps. If you don't believe in angels just look at he car." Rescuers credit a driver's side airbag with saving her life. The truck driver was uninjured. Lynn and Haleyville firemen responded to the scene. The accident and fuel cleanup caused a long traffic detour for Friday afternoon. Alabama State troopers invested the accident.
