The Haleyville Board of Education met Tuesday night and took the following action:
Approved Board Expenditures for April, 2011, in the amount of $1,180,118.90; approved Board Expenditures for May, 2011 in the amount of $1,150,152.5; approved a Field Trip Request for 7th 8th grade Boys Basketball team to attend Basketball Team Camp in Birmingham July 7-8, 2011; approved Student Code of conduct for Haleyville Elementary School; Haleyville Middle School; Haleyville 9th Grade Academy; and Haleyville High School for the 201-2012 school year; approved the purchase of storage building and property adjacent to the southwest corner of the Haleyville High School campus; and, approved Personnel Salary Schedule for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved a Field Trip Request for PYLI students and sponsors to attend Leadership Development at Bear Creek Recreational Center, Hodges AL September 26-28, 2011; and, approved Field Trip Request for band students and director to attend Drum Corp International, Murfreesboro, TN July 29, 2011;
The Board also took the following Personnel Action:
Approved the retirement of Ronald Watson as maintenance worker effective October 1, 2011;
Approved the Family Medical Leave and Maternity Leave Request of Dena Sparks for the 1st semester of the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the hire of Jennifer McInnish as Prevention & At-Risk Social Service Liaison Specialist and System Grant Writer for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the hire of Kara Tittle as secondary social sciences teacher for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the hire of Kelley Reid as Title I Instructional Aide for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the hire of Susan Williams as part-time ELL Instructional Aide for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the voluntary transfer of Melisa A. Cook from Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to First Grade Teacher for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the voluntary transfer of Julie Wilcoxson from Collaborative Special Education Teacher to Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the extension Mitzi Petty’s 211 day contract to 240 day contract for the 2011-2012 school year;
Approved the hire of Kara Richie West to fill a one-year leave of absence at Haleyville Elementary School for the 2011-2012 school year; and,
Approved the hire of Ashley Mitchell to fill a one-semester (first semester) leave of absence at Haleyville Elementary School for the 2011-2012 school year.
The Board's next scheduled meeting is July 26, 7 PM.
