The City Council will hold a Special Meeting Friday, 12 Noon, to consider the ABC application for the Token.

In action Monday night, the Council approved May general operation bills of $495,326.23, a franchise agreement with Water & Sewer Board, Head Start lease agreement, changing the Park and Rec Director to “Merit” status, and giving the Mayor authority to fill seasonal positions at Streets & Sanitation.

The Council also approved letters of intent for grant applications relating to hazard mitigation. These efforts will include safe rooms around the city and generators for Water & Sewer.

A company that manufactures safe rooms will have a display in the upper parking lot Friday, beginning at 10 AM. The FEMA “D-A-U-W-G” house will be on display.

The Council will meet Friday, and its next regular meeting will be Tuesday, July 5, 7 PM.
