The bulk of Monday's City Council meeting concerned disaster relief and assistance. (See last night's story).

The Council officially declared a “State of Emergency,” hired personnel to man the disaster relief station at the Rescue Squad, and approved contracts for warehouse space and a truck and trailer, both to handle relief supplies.

Court for April 28 was rescheduled for May 12.

The Council also hired a part-time aide for the senior center and lifeguards.

The Council will meet again Monday, May 16, 7 PM.

Mayor Ken Suneri said that the City is no longer accepting clothing donations. Phil Campbell and Hackleburg are now asking for basic school supplies. Both cities hope to re-open schools soon.
