With the possibility of severe weather approaching, Superintendent Clint A. Baggett has released the following statement:

"Northwest and Central Alabama, including the Haleyville area, may experience severe weather in the afternoon hours today. Please know that we are in constant contact with the National Weather Service, EMA Officials and local authorities monitoring the weather conditions.

"If conditions warrant a change of regular school hours, we will make an announcement on local radio WJBB and parent-public notification through our system-wide emergency telephone call service as well as using HBTV's local cable channel and website.

"Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping all school phone lines open."
