The City Council approved a $50,000 ALDOT grant for repair and drainage improvements to 26th Street, from 9th Avenue to 11th Avenue, and approved the purchase of a replacement pumper for the fire department in the amount of $67,000.
In other action Monday, the Council approved: annexation petition of JRS Realty, LLC; a float loan; advertising for seasonal lifeguards; purchasing a utility truck from NWA Gas District in the amount of $5,187.00; and, the purchase of two mowers under bid not to exceed $17,000.
The Council also hired Barry Butler, Joseph Hammersley, Chris Saylor and Patrick Skillman as seasonal workers in the Street Department.
The next meeting of the Council will be Monday, March 21, 7 PM.
