Vehicle Overturns on 243

The driver of a 1996 Mazda pick-up truck left the road around 10:30 Thursday morning and overturned on AL243 just north of mile 2. The driver, Terry Marks, 29, of Oneonta, was transported by helicopter to UAB. Marks was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

An animal carcass in the road indicates the driver may have lost control after either striking or avoiding striking the animal.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating.

Pebble Fire, Haleyville Fire, Winston County Sheriff's Department, RPS and Alabama State Troopers all responded to the accident.
