A SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK IS EXPECTED LATER TODAY AND OVERNIGHT WITH THE HIGHEST IMPACTS ACROSS THE NORTHWEST PART OF THE AREA. TORNADOES...DAMAGING WINDS...AND LARGE HAIL ARE POSSIBLE. THE GREATEST THREAT FOR STRONG AND LONG-TRACK TORNADOES WILL BE GENERALLY NORTHWEST OF CARROLLTON TO JASPER LINE. SEVERE STORMS COULD IMPACT WEST ALABAMA AS EARLY AS 3 PM. THE SEVERE THREAT WILL BE CONFINED MAINLY TO AREAS WEST OF I-65 FROM 3 PM UNTIL 9 PM...WITH THE SEVERE THREAT IMPACTING AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF I-65 AFTER 9 PM.
