Crystal Richeson, 31, Haleyville was driving east on Highway 278 in Double Springs Monday at 11 a.m. when she lost control of her pickup. The pickup left the roadway, traveled up an embankment and crashed into Dollar General knocking out two yellow guard poles and the front of the store. Reportedly, Crystal was not injured from the crash, but may have suffered a seizure just before the collision. A shopper, Leigh Ellen Townsend, was taken to a hospital with a non life threatening injury from being struck from flying debris.

According to Double Springs police officer Andy Tucker, a Dollar General cashier had just walked away from the register before the impact. Tucker also pointed out, the parking lot, which is normally full, was not at that time on Monday, thus the pickup went straight for the building. Tucker stated, "it was a miracle no one was killed or seriously injured."
