A group of young singers is making its first appearance in Bear Creek. The Connection Singers, founded in 1989 and based in Tuscumbia, Alabama will perform Friday, June 26 at Hines Baptist Church, located at 10726 Highway 241 in Bear Creek.
Performers range in age from middle school to college age and must audition for a place with the group. The Connection Singers are part of the Connection for the Lord Ministries and they travel throughout the United States, singing and ministering to audiences of all ages.
Greg Weeks is the executive director and founder of the Connection Singers. He explained the young singers have a powerful message for all people. “Our desire is to come together in the name of Jesus Christ and invite the presence of the Holy Spirit to dwell among us,” said Weeks. Weeks and his wife, Tina, also perform with the group.
The young ensemble is being brought to the area by Bear Creek Community Church, who will host the singers in their homes. The host families will provide housing and meals for the group during their stay.
The performance at Hines Baptist begins at 7 p.m. on June 26th and is free to the public. For more information on the Connection Singers visit their website at www.connectionforthelord.org. For local information, contact Jan Barnett at Bear Creek Community Church, 205-269-9481
