The annual Haleyville 9-1-1 Festival was a huge success this past weekend with both good weather and a large crowd for the music on Friday night and festivities on Saturday. Headlining the event was the county music group Restless Heart which performed their past hits and some of other artists in their 90 minute performance. The music started at 5:30 with Winston Ramble, followed by Waywhilago, and Jessica Meuse. For the first time for the 9-1-1 festival, the music stage was located in the parking lot behind the library, a move forced by the construction of the new city hall in the previous location. Turned out to be a great move. Over 70 vendors filled main and side streets with funnel cakes and leather belts and everything in between. A 5K color fun run started the day early Saturday morning followed by a car and tractor show and the combined alumni and 9-1-1 parade. |
