A two-vehicle crash today, May 6, claimed the lives of two Jasper teens. Clay Steven McCarty, 15, of Jasper was killed when the 2002 Honda Accord he was driving collided with a 1997 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. A passenger in the Honda, Ivy Graacyn Redmill, 17, of Jasper, was also killed in the crash. Neither of the teens were using seat belts. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The crash occurred at 7:35 a.m. on Alabama 257, also known as Curry Highway, at the five mile marker, four miles north of Jasper. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
