A former Winston County Sheriff's Deputy has been sentenced to serve three years and nine months in federal prison for his plea to charges he extorted a woman to cook methamphetamine. Grady Keith Concord, 42, of Nauvoo, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Abdul Kallon during a hearing last Thursday in Birmingham. The judge also ordered Concord to serve three years supervised probation once his is released. Concord had pleaded guilty in December to one count each of extortion under color of official right, manufacturing methamphetamine, and manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine on premises where children are present or reside. Concord also faces a second-degree manufacturing methamphetamine charge in state court from last June. His trial is set for May 11 on that charge. He was fired from the sheriff's department and has remained in jail since. For more info see al.com |
