Haleyville Coach Bo Culver receiving an ice bath by two Lions after Friday's win
Round 2 of the Alabama High School Athletic Association Football Playoffs were played last week. Unfortunately, two of the four local teams were defeated in this round. Phillips and Hackleburg were defeated, and Marion County will travel to Cedar Bluff for Round 3.
The Haleyville Lions have advanced to Round 3 as well! This is the first time the Lions have made it to the third round of playoffs since 1986. The Lions have faced and overcome multiple challenges this year from a new head coach with a new system of play, region losses, and injuries, but they have grown as a team as the season has progressed and are stronger than ever. The Lions will HOST this week, and they are requesting your presence! The Haleyville Lions would like to see Herman "Bubba" Scott Field filled to capacity as they have a rematch against Cordova. The Lions came out on top in a nailbiter in the first matchup against the Blue Devils, but they need you there to support them this week. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and admission will be $8 at the gate. See you Friday at "The Bubba!"
