Stults Named Finalist in National Competition

Stults is shown in the photo above relocating a turtle from the middle of the road to safety inside the Gulf State Park. 

Haleyville native Randy "Taylor" Stults has been named a finalist for the Service Wear Apparel Park Ranger of the Year. Stults is a Park Ranger for the Alabama State Parks and currently serves at the Gulf State Park in Orange Beach. This award is a nationwide award for park rangers. The criteria met for this nomination includes the following items.

  • Dedication to preservation of the park and its natural environment
  • Leadership through obstacles to create the best possible park experience for visitors and staff
  • Commitment to safety and protection of park and visitors by smart thinking and intentional action

If Stults wins this competition, he not only wins money for himself, but he will receive $1,000 in uniform allowances for the Gulf State Park rangers. This competition is based on votes from the public, and everyone is encouraged to support Stults in this contest. Use the link below to vote one time each day through September 19, 2014.
