Fire Destroys Bear Creek Home

There was a residential fire on State Highway 172 in Bear Creek Tuesday afternoon. The home is owned by George Rives, and his sister, Sharon Rives, lived in the home. No one was home when the fire began, and no one was injured in the fire. The Bear Creek and Haleyville Fire Departments responded to the call around 1:30 p.m. The fire appears to have started in the kitchen area, but the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
