The Haleyville City Council met for a Special Called Council meeting Thursday evening. This meeting was held because Monday's regular council meeting was canceled due to a lack of quorum. Councilman Bud Wilson was absent from the meeting. The following items were approved.

• June 2, 2014 council minutes
• May general operational bills- $348,332.44
• application for CDBG grant for Cripple Creek Subdivision
• city matching funds for Cripple Creek project ($142,088 with $27,650 coming from the Haleyville Water Board and the rest from the general fund)
• acceptance of property from the Free State Shrine Club due to the organization becoming inactive in the community-also provides consideration for the Free State Shrine Club to take back the property if the club becomes active again
• retiree one time lump sum payment in the amount of $11,278 to the Employees' Retirement System
• rental of dozer for an additional month in the amount of $9,900 from Warrior Tractor in Northport for continued work at the new Haleyville Sportsplex
• notice to property owners for the repair/demolition of property according to the Haleyville Demolition Ordinance
