The Haleyville Lions golf teams were not able to continue their stellar play, and as a result, their respective seasons ended last week. The Lady Lions golf team was unable to advance to post-season play this year after faltering in the 1A-5A Section 2 tournament in Cullman. The team of Brooke Harrison, Adriana Frost, and Macey Harrison managed a 6th place overall finish in the event, which pushed their season record to 9-10. Haleyville’s boys' golf team traveled to Point Mallard Golf Course last week to compete in the Sub-State round of the AHSAA  Golf Playoffs. The team was led by Junior Clint Phillips's round of 79, good enough for 12th place individually, and 8th grader Rob Richards's round of 84, good enough for 15th place individually. However, the rest of the Lions struggled to get things going their way, ending with a 6th place team finish in the event.

“ I am proud of our seasons.” stated Coach Dusty Ball. “I am not happy about the way we finished some things, but we are still young and are learning something new about ourselves every day. We just need to take these experiences and learn to overcome some adversity and continue to play. We are on the verge of having something really special in our girls and boys golf programs!”

The Lions' golf program would like to thank the following sponsors for their continued support: Scott’s Qwik Mart, Small Miracles Day Care, Robinson & Sons Construction, Hometown Pawn, Glasshouse Carwash, Signs of the Time, Dandy Lion, Ball & Associates Insurance, Traders and Farmers Bank, European Tan Products, John Carpenter Ford, and First National Bank.
