Chat-N-Chew, the long time Phil Campbell restaurant and hang out, was heavily damaged by fire in the overnight hours Thursday. The fire reportedly started around 10:00 p.m., and the Phil Campbell, Bear Creek, Blue Springs, Frog Pond, and Russellville Fire Departments battled the blaze. Despite efforts of the firemen, there was serious damage to the structure. Business owner, Venita Armstrong, stated at this time she is unsure what the future holds for the Chat-N-Chew. The fire is currently under investigation by the Alabama Fire Marshal's Office.
