The HHS Golf Team is following the weather trend and beginning to heat up at just the right time!  The boys and girls team started last week’s schedule by traveling to Moulton to compete in the Lawrence County Invitational.  The Lady Lions showed promise of bringing home a runner-up trophy before falling in a one hole playoff to host Lawrence County.  The team of Brooke Harrison, Adriana Frost, and Macey Harrison played very consistently and were only a few strokes from claiming the overall title.  The boys’ team is also heating up as the year progresses.  The Lions finished third in the nine team tournament with their season low team score of 325.  The season low score was short lived however as the Lions returned home Tuesday for a home match with Carbon Hill.  This match marked a couple of firsts for the young team.  It would be the first home victory for the boys all season, along with the first round under par for freshman Reid Haughton who led the team on the day with a score of 35.  The Lions rounded out the week by finishing second in a tri-match at Fayette with a score of 166.  Both golf teams look to continue their consistent play next week while traveling to Walker and Russellville.

The golf team would like to thank a few of their sponsors for their continued support:  A&H Woodworking, Razor’s Edge, Pinkard Funeral Home, Walt & Carol Parson, Rowe Building Supply, Richardson Real Estate, Pinnacle Bank, Dr. Heath Banks, Unique Apparel, May’s Wholesale, Lawson Real Estate, Jolly Dan’s, Haleyville Insurance Center and Piggly Wiggly.
