Marion and Winston Counties have been placed under a Winter Weather Advisory until 11:00 a.m. Jan. 6.
A Hard Freeze Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service from Jan 6 12:00 AM to Jan 7 12:00 PM CST for most of North Alabama including Marion and Winston Counties.
NWS has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Jan 6 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Marion, Franklin, and Winston Counties.
Wind Advisory in effect for ALL of Central Alabama from 6pm Sun-6pm Mon...sustained 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
From the National Weather Service in Birmingham: Rain will transition to a wintry mix and then possibly to all snow behind an arctic cold front Sunday evening and night. Here are the approximate changeover times and position of the cold front. Please remember that these times will be adjusted as necessary over the next day or two, so check back often for the latest updates. Any moisture left on roadways will freeze and could cause some travel issues Sunday night and Monday.
