As yet another year nears its end and a new year approaches, we are taking an opportunity to look back. As with every year, 2013 had its ups and downs for Haleyville and the surrounding areas. 

As a gift to each of you, we are bringing you a recap of the year's top stories. Just as life deals our hands, some stories will bring back happy thoughts and hopes for a prosperous future for our community.  Others will be less cheerful to remember but can be used to remind each of us how each life is precious and can be changed in the blink of an eye. The stories we are presenting are in no particular order.
