HMS WAC Winners

Three of the Haleyville Junior High School basketball teams recently won the WAC Tournament in their divisions at Fayette High School. Each team and their stats are listed below. 

 

Team mebers are listed top to bottom and left to right. Coach Heath Guin, Colten Russell, Daniel Burleson, Ty Marbutt, Brayden Cagle, Coach Jordan Scott, Aubrey McCullar, Brandon Sartin, Will Evans, Trey Head, and Jacob Barton

 

The 9th Grade Boys defeated Winfield in the final game of the WAC Tournament with a score of 45-38 to secure the win. They are coached by Heath Guin and Jordan Scott. Individual stats are as follows. 

Will Evans 16 points

Brayden Cagle 14 points

Colten Russell 7 points

Daniel Burleson 4 points

Aubrey McCullar 2 points

Ty Marbutt 2 points

The 7th and 8th Grade Girls are coached by Jason Cooper and defeated Fayette 32-20 for the championship. Individual stats are as follows. 

Kayleigh White 10 points

Leslie Wright 7 points

Aleah Bishop 6 points

Tanaeja Brown 4 points

Skye Taylor 2 points

Kaley Stevens 2 points

Samantha Orrick 1 point

 

Team members are listed left to right. Trenton McCaleb, John Robert Ellis, Drake Robertson, Mason Lambert, Cayden Postell, Blake Bennett, Benjamin Lowman, Scott McAlpine, Jacob McCarley, Rusty Frost, Coach Jason Yarborough, and Rome Yarborough

 

The 7th Grade Boys also won the championship after defeating Hamilton 20-8. This team is coached by Jason Yarborough. Individual stats are as follows. 

Benjamin Lowman (season average near 20 points per game) 10 points

Blake Bennett 7 points

Trenton McCaleb 3 points
