The Haleyville Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle Thursday afternoon. Officers were conducting routine monitoring in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy shopping center. Officers noted a Chevrolet Silverado with a Jefferson County tag in the lot, and the passenger window was broken. Upon closer inspection, officers noted loose wires hanging from the steering column, and the vehicle registration did not match the vehicle.
The Chevrolet Silverado had been reported stolen in Birmingham Thursday morning. Officers had the vehicle towed and contacted the Birmingham Police Department. No driver was at the location with the truck, but the Haleyville Police Department will continue the investigation.
