There was a shooting on Marion County Road 114 Tuesday around 4:00 p.m. The Marion County Sheriff's Department, Bear Creek Police Department, Haleyville Police Department, and the Marion County District Attorney's Office responded to the scene. The incident took place at the residence of Johnny Cochran and reports from witnesses indicated there was an altercation between Cockren, Randy Dobbins. age 53 of Bear Creek and Angela Swindle, of Bear Creek. The altercation resulted in Randy Dobbins being shot and killed. Angela had left the scene when officers arrived and was arrested at a different location for old fines and public intoxication.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Williams stated alcohol was involved in this incident. This death is currently being investigated as a homicide, which is routine procedure for all deaths in Marion County. The incident is under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Dobbins' body will be sent away for forensic testing before any conclusions are made on the incident.
